Grasscloth

Location:

Dallas, Texas

Grasscloth are making a big comeback. Super popular in the '60s and '70s, these eco-friendly natural fibers have gotten a modern upgrade and look better than ever. The name "grasscloth" can be a bit misleading, though. While it can be made from grasses like arrowroot, it actually refers to wallcoverings made from natural fibers with a paper backing. These fibers can include everything from hemp and jute to bamboo, raffia, seagrass, and sisal.

Keep in mind that the seams between grasscloth panels can be tough to hide, and they’re often part of the design. Plus, color differences from one roll to another can be pretty noticeable
